What an amazing time we all had at Scrapbook Expo, pictured here are some very satisfied students after completing Azza's class 'Book of Dreams', this class was sponsored by Chroma Australia, we used their Jo Sonja's acrylic paints, love those paints and I have been using them for years...more photos attached.
Also pictured is Rachel Greig from Darkroom who sponsored Angella Peardon's class 'As You Turn in Life', just had to take a photo, I also managed to get away to do a Rachel Greig class, awesome lady...

New beginnings

Well it has finally happened...after 25 years of running a retail store, we have now closed and will be working online and at shows. Today is the first day of the rest of my life, Andrew's and mine that is. It feels a little funny not having to open a store after so many years!!
Clearing and moving a shop is worse than moving a house...boy do my bones know that! Hopefully I wont know myself!!!! Still putting things in their place, but soon all will be done.
Need a break though, need some craft time....soon, yippee!!!

It has been a long time since I have posted....happy news though!! We have now closed our shop front after 25 years and are now working online and at craft shows. Still in the process of moving everything, our deadline is next week...we needed a good clean out....we actually found our first ever internet order over 10 years ago!!!
Itching to get back to designing and having a good play!! I am really enjoying all the DT work on the NING site and I am itching to play with my friend Azza!!!

Christmas Time

Just a quick view of my foyer, were I like ot set up the family christmas tree. My decorations are handmade from many years of crafting, 25 actually. I always enjoy adding something extra, I do love christmas time and decorating for my family is always a pleasure. When the kids were younger they would help, now I just take my time and enjoy the experience and the joy of christmas.

Feeling very Christmassy at the moment, so the tree will go up in the next few days...just love christmas. I like it better when the kids helped, they are older now and its not fun for them anymore, still fun for me...I put up some of their ornaments that they made at school and it makes me remember when they were little and controllable. Hoping to take some pics to share as my ornaments are handmade, I made a few every year and now I have a collection...

Design Team Family for Scrapmatts

Finally, we can announce to the world...Scrapmatts official Design Team Family...just love all the ladies. They are all individuals and very distinct and unique design concepts...I can't wait to see what they come up with...the future will see.
It was the hardest decision to make, I had to send out so many 'sorry, not this time...' emails, that hurts and i don't like hurting people.
More great news...we also have announced our new Ning Network site...so everyone get along to our new network site http://www.scrapmatts.ning.com/ Our DT Co-ordinator is the lovely Angella Peardon, also all our designers are showcased there as well as links to their albums and personal blogs.

Can't wait to see what the future will bring...

New Year, New Direction

I have spent the past week deciding on where I am going and where I am taking Scrapmatts, most definetly in a new direction for 2011, cant wait. This has given me a new mission. I enjoy what I do and love my product, sharing it has given me the most joy over the years.

With the announcement of our new Design Team Family next week, I intend on opening new doors and creating new avenues for my creativity and for the gorgeous and talented ladies who are joining our family.

So with a big smile on my face and standing tall(as tall as I can stand), I am moving forward and forward....

Last Show for the Year

Just making the final touches for the last show of th year, Papercrafts Festival http://papercraftsfestival.com.au Should be a great show, I am conducting a christmas workshop, making an ornament and a card. Everything is packed and ready to go, Thursday is set up day and it takes a bit of time to get things right on the stand. I know I will see lots of familiar faces, as many have told me they are coming.
We will be having Azza Sedrak on our stand demonstrating and playing with our product.

Brisbane Craft Show

Well another show over, met lots of lovely ladies and had some fun too!! Angella Peardon was our demonstrator for the show and what a lovely lady she is, thanks Angella. The other picture is of Angella, me and the lovely girls from Flourish with a Bling, Lucy and Maggie, who stopped in for a chat, a photo and a druel over our new designs, thanks ladies.
Shows are always hard work and the reward is meeting our lovely customers and their support, thank you Brisbane. Last show of the year coming up and then rest and revive for next year.
Don't forget less than 2 weeks till the Design Team Call is up, choosing is not going to be easy some lovely applicantions already and I know still more to come, don't forget to get your applications in ladies, we intend to have fun.

Workshops in Wodonga

Well Wodonga was great. Meet lots of lovely ladies, who just loved Scrapmatts. I ran a workshop daily making 3 cards and the girls were great and very creative. It was great and a real buzz to have people enjoy making your designs. The cards were all so different and colourful.
I will be in Wagga Wagga in 2 weeks doing the same workshops and introducing Scrapmatts to new ladies.

Craft Alive, Wodonga

Going to the Craft Alive Show in Wodonga this weekend. This is a new show for us and we know we have lots of customers in that area. Might be a nice change to visit some of the smaller country shows. There are lots of crafters out there wanting something new and exciting, so I hope we can help them.
I will also be running card making workshops in Wodonga and also when we get to Wagga, end of July. Looking forward to meeting some lovely crafters from Wodonga and surrounding areas.

Brisbane Scrapbook Expo finished on Monday and today Darling Harbour commenced..what a week it has been. It is fun seeing old familiar faces and people coming with lists of what they and their friends need. I like shopping lists, some people are organised. Just love the trees. The first I have left bare and just added some birds in the tree, this is the medium size tree. The background has been painted then embossed using the cuttlebug machine.
The second card I have painted the trunk randomly using a brown stamp pad, then added green flower soft, leaving some of the branches bare, really like this one, great for a man's card...Sofie

June is such a busy month for us, we have the Scrapbook & Papercraft Convention this weekend in Brisbane, Saturday, Sunday and Monday at the Brisbane Convention Centre, this will be a fantastic show, freight is packed and on its way to Brisbane. We finish up on Monday and fly home and Tuesday morning we set up for Darling Harbour and a five day show...busy, busy, busy.
We will have be releasing new designs at the Scrapbook Show and then in Sydney, can't wait, I have been busy with Azza, my demonstrator, making new samples for both shows, thanks Azza!!

Azza and I had some fun playing, so we made these ATC's for Paperarts yahoo group, it was fun. I have made quite a few card samples also using scrapmatts, hope to get them up soon, or you can go to the facebook page for scrapmatts.com, to view the designs.

Dress Form Card

Just thought I would share this sweet little card I made, I am thinking of using it for my mother-in-law for Mother's Day, she enjoys sewing.
I have just tied some pink organza ribbon around the waist and added some paper flowers, stamped a few flourishes, added some bling and added a few small daisies at the bottom of the skirt of the dress form.
I was really pleased with the end result..
I have been working hard for the May release of new designs, I have made a few samples and I will get them up on the weekend, I promise...

New designs for April and a give away...
We have just uploaded the new designs for April, some lovely retro cats and birdcages, these were released at the Brisbane show last week, they where very well received. My favourite though is now the dress form, wow. It is small enough for a card, hoping to make it other sizes soon. Now to think of ways to decorate it, I am thinking of putting some silk ribbon around the waist and maybe some tulle or organza, to look like a skirt.
Please write what you would like to do with them and I will give away a packet of dress forms and a packet of birdcages. You have until the 11th April and the winner will be announced on Monday 12th April, 2010.

New cards

Melbourne Paperific was sadly cancelled for the last day and part of the second, due to the horrific storms in Melbourne. But I did manage to finish off 2 cards. The dragonfly card was a stamped image highlighted with the Stardust Pens and our dragonfly CB1038. The second card has one of our lamp post CB5027 in black and highlighted with golden star pen, then glossed with dimensional magic.

Getting ready for Paperarts in Brisbane next weekend and I have managed to get a few new samples done. Our new lamp posts are just beautiful, they come in different sizes for scrapbook pages and for card making. i love the elegant look they give a page.
Valentines day is coming up and I just had to make a card, maybe it will be for someone special, anyway it is just fun to play with the hearts. Hope to have more time to play soon.

All the dates for the Craft Shows for 2010 have now been uploaded on our website. We have a big schedule for 2010. The first of the year will be in Brisbane, Brisbane Papercrafts Festival, at RNA Showgrounds from Friday, 5th Feb till Sunday 7th Feb, 2010. Should be a great show. Our 'Scrapmatts' stand will be there with a new look and great new designs...cant wait.

I have uploaded 14 fantastic new designs on our website..I just love them, have been trying to do hearts for ages and now we have made a start. More cards as promised. These two great cards are from Judy in Sydney. She loved the sleighs when she first saw and went home and cam up with this great idea. Our sleighs have been highlighted with gelly roll glitter pens and snow has been added to the base. The presents are leftover stickers and recycled old cards, they look great filling up the sleigh.
The scrapmatts words have also been highlighted with gelly roll pens and then glossed with dimensional magic. Can't wait to see what Judy comes up with next!!

This fantastic card was done by Vicki, from Sydney. She has used 4 trees and offset them on top of each other, very clever. Vicki has used the Gelly Roll Glitter Pens to colour in the trees. Vicki's top matt has been embossed on the cuttlebug machine, to give texture to the trees. Well done, I am always impressed what these ladies can do.

Well hasn't this year gone so quickly. Christmas is so near and there is still lots to do. Here are pictures of our new Christmas sleighs, they come in 2 sizes and a variety of colours. I have embellished them with Gelly Roll Pens and on the picture on the right tow of our new words 'peace' and 'believe' have been added on, how cute do they look. Don't know if you can see the one in raw, I have cross-hatched gold lines in the Metallic Gold Pen, click on it for a larger view.

WOW, just had to share. Shirley T. bought these at a recent Paperific Show in Melbourne, Shirley has used one of our frames, flourishes and butterflies and has cleverly coloured them in using the Sakura Gelly Roll Stardust Pens, which give a great glitter finish.
Shirley also wrote to me and said..''I'm totally in love with your new chipboard range..including the Sakura gelly roll markers, I've created htis fantastic layout using both products and couldn't be happier with the results.
Thanx so much for having such amazing products at even more amazing prices...Hope you like my work'.

Hi, I've been playing again. These are just a few samples of our new designs for November. I have used the Gelly Roll Stardust pens to colour in the ornaments and then highlighted with Dimensional Magic, just little droplets of it to give a bit of dimension to the ornaments. The larger ones you can put a photo inside, they come with a solid back. I think I might put photos of the kids in these for the grandparents, then they can just use them as ornaments on their christmas trees!!
We will be at the Adelaide Craft & Quilt Fair this week for some fun and to meet some of our lovely customers.

Christmas is coming...

Well is Christmas is well and truly coming as everyone keeps reminding me. I have made a start with our new christmas ornaments and our new words form our scrapmatts range. I still have the gold thread to put on to attach the baubles, but I am very pleased with them. They are hollow, so I have used my left over papers to decorate inside them, I will try my leftover flourishes inside next time....I have stamped the words in gold and the other Merry Christmas I have used the red Gelly roll pens, found some gold sequin stars and have attached them on as well, I like my bling at Christmas. New designs will be in for Christmas in the next 2 weeks.
We are currently at the Melbourne Craft Expo, so busy setting up for that now...

Words are here at last.. They will be available in chipboard only. But I enjoy a bit of bling, so on the complete 'merry christmas' I have used gold and silver brilliance stamp pads, much easier thank painting. The 'congratulations' has been stamped with black brilliance. They have all come up fantastic and they are the perfect size for cardmaking.
Hoping to get a few samples made up as soon as I can, not much time, busy creating and packing for upcoming shows.

ATC Swap with Robbie

I should really call this Robbie's challenge!! This was sent to me by Robbie who challenged me with sme green metallic ribbon. Robbie is so talented and has used scrapmatts ATC's, Microchip flourishes, flowers and nested pieces. It is now my turn to produce a masterpiece, my background is done, now for the inspiration... Hopefully, within the next week I will have achieved.
There are also new desings on the webiste, long awaited words, that everyone has been asking for!!! So enjoy.

Stitches & Craft Show Rosehill

Well, what a show!!! It was fantastic, lots and lots of fun people, just wanting to see our range of chipboard. It was really exciting, the new range was extremely well received and I am listening to all the lovely ladies who made wonderful suggestions, but they all take time.

In the photo I have Azza demonstrating, with her fan club around her. Azza knows so many people and they just love her. She is a very talented lady, who devotes her time to craft.

I have been working on new designs for our range, can't say too much it will spoil the surprise for the 1st of Septmeber!!! Aren't I cheeky!! You will all just have to check out Scrapmatts.com on Tuesday morning.

Music to enjoy...

Finally, we have managed to do the music sets I have wanted and needed. Both kids are into music and have lots of photos to scrap... no excuse now. I am really pleased with the results, the sets all look great and they are so cute! I can even see these being used on cards and gift tags, books and all sorts of places...There will be lots more music sets to come as well as instruments, which lots of people have been asking for, I have not forgotten you. Please enjoy using them, as much as I have, designing them.

Lots of new bags to play with, because I just love shopping so I need plenty of new bags...Just love the new designs and the colours match the shoes!!! I like to colour in the designs with the Gelly Roll pens then use Dimensional magic to gloss, they look almost real. I am sitting here now trying to decide which one I will use first, just love them all. We all know that a girl can never have enough bags!!!
August is almost here, so that means new designs, I get to play some more...

Craft Shows

We have just finished 3 craft shows in a row!! Brisbane Scrapbook & Papercraft Expo, Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair and Melbourne Paperific. I demonstrated for Scrapmatts and wow, met some lovely ladies who just love our designs. The ladies from Dunedin (NZ) had to get their daily fix of Scrapmatts.

The picture is of our stand in Brisbane, what a fantastic show.

In Sydney we had Azza and myself demonstrating, it was fun, Azza and I just love to play with our new designs. We were using Gelly Roll Pens, which are glitter pens that work well with our chipboard designs, they will soon be available on our website. We have some fantastic new designs due for the month of July!!! No hints, you will have to wait to see what is coming up next! Not even Azza knows and sometimes she is more excited than me, her mind goes a million miles an hour and has already designed the card or ATC before she has even seen the sample!!

Our next show will be in Melbourne again in July, all our new designs will be available and I will be busy designing, though I would rather be playing. Have new samples to make, some of them grew legs in Melbourne!!!

Scrapmatts just finished the Brisbane Scrapbook Expo, which was fantastic. Met quite a few of our regular customers and we had the best compliments about our range, especially from the New Zealand ladies, who were lovely!! My mind is racing with new ideas and designs, it is great to know that people love your designs.
Last night we set up for the Craft & Quilt Fair in Sydney, it is the biggest show in Australia and to look at it from above is a crafter's heaven. Azza & I will be sharing the demo table, we should have lots of fun together.

Scrapmatts is currently at The Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo in Brisbane. What a day it was today, it was great to meet the ladies that love and order scrapmatts regularly. We had great new products and new ideas, I was run off my feet, but it was fun!! I talked and talked, not that it was hard to do! Our product is so unique, fresh and different! I was demonstrating all day and I did not even finish 1 card, maybe tomorrow!

Azza and me, deciding what we are going to play with next!! We have not had a play day for a while, both of us are getting fidgety and stressed, need some craft relief!!
Autumn is here and the parks are full of colour, burnt oranges, rusts, ambe yellows, inspiration and mood are always a good way to star and get in the mood to play with paper and mediums.
So, lookout as Azza and I are let loose in her craft room!!

Brisbane Stitiches & Craft Show

Well the Brisbane Stithces & Crat Show opened today, with huge crowds waiting for the doors to open.
Always exciting, the show has really been revamped. We have a huge range of new card frames now uploaded on the webiste. These are just a few of the samples I have made for the show. The card frame can be used for both card making and scrapbooking. The card frame used is Scrapmatts CB6001 and fits the card sheets of the actors beautfully, probably a wedding shot or kids playing, would also look great.

We have uploaded 25 new chipboard designs for cardmaking or scrapbooking. They are different and I am very excited about them. The students in our studio have absolutely loved them and they want to try all of them! They are simple to use and we have done most of the work for you.
I will upload more samples, but we are currently at the Brisbane Stitches and Craft, which will be a fantastic show, new look show and very different!
The sample is made with design CB6011 (purple) and the 3D card sheet used is from our Die-cut section and is 83056.

Butterfly

This is a cute butterfly using Scrapmatts ATC frame with butterfly from the butterflies collection. I have sponged the ATC and butterfly with a gold stamp pad and used a gold pen to outline the butterfly. Only the body has been glued down, so the wings remain raised, as if in flight. You can tell I like butterflies!! More to come soon.

Designing Day

We have spent most of the morning working on some new designs for our Scrapmatts line. I have more ideas in my head than can possible be accomplished in one day. I always go off on a tangent and want to do other things that are rolling around in my head!!
